CCATF Chairman and Members to contribute to Mayor’s Construction Academy Scheme

CCATF Chairman and Members to contribute to Mayor’s Construction Academy Scheme

As part of Skills for Londoners, the Mayor is launching a Construction Academy Scheme.

This aims to increase the number of skilled construction workers in London to help meet housebuilding targets.

The scheme will:

  • Help ensure more people can access construction skills training
  • Provide funding for new and improved learning spaces and equipment
  • Support SME construction firms with vacancies to fill
  • Share best practice among trainers
  • Promote careers in construction

CCATF Chairman, Martyn Price, MBE, is delighted to have been invited to take part in this opportunity. Working alongside other CCATF members including Mark Farmer, author of the Government mandated ‘Modernise or Die’, Martyn will offer insight and perspectives on the development of sustainable apprenticeship relationships.

The CCATF has excellent representation on the Scheme’s list with Duprez Consulting and Berkeley’s Group both offering their contribution to the success of the scheme.

Speaking about his invitation to take part in the Mayor’s Scheme Chairman, Martyn Price said ‘the taskforce is delighted to be able to support the Mayor in his ambition to develop a construction skills academy in London. Working with leading contributors to the skills agenda and supporting the development of apprenticeships within the construction sector is our main focus’.

Progress on the Scheme and the contributions made by the CCATF will be reported on periodically as progress is made.
